Philip and Joseph run for Wetwheels

We have 11 amazing ABP Southampton Marathon runners this Sunday. Every pound they raise will help provide life-changing, barrier-free trips on the water with Wetwheels Solent and Wetwheels Hamble.

Here is Joseph, and Father Philip's inspiring story: "I’m immensely proud to volunteer on Wetwheels Hamble. My wonderful boy Joseph Smith came out in 2020 and the experience gave him the biggest smile for a very long time.

On Sunday 24th April, we will be “running” the ABP Southampton Marathon 5K. For Joseph this is a HUGE step and something that’s taken a lot of courage to sign up to.

Running for us means ‘walking as fast as his power wheelchair will allow’, which we think is about 5-7kmh. We have NO idea if the battery will last the entire course, but if not - guess I’ll be pushing the rest of the way. Thanks for reading and wish us luck for next Sunday!

Support Philip and Joseph and our wonderful team - Thank you. And thank you to ABP Southampton - Port of Southampton, for match funding the first £75 raised by each runner, as their charity of the year 2022.
