Hamble River Breezes

Hamble

After leaving our berth at Mercury we will head north and gently meander up the river for a mile or so at a speed of 5 knots. Passing the infamous Jolly Sailor pub and boat yards featured in the BBC drama Howards Way, we will turn about just prior to the railway bridge. We then head down stream, passing Hamble and Warsash Villages their marinas & yacht clubs to the entrance of Southampton Water where we proceed to turn and head back up the river.

This is a slow speed trip which involves gently chugging along the length of the navigable river and learning about the history of our wonderful river.

Look out for Oystercatchers, Swans, Commorants, Greenshanks, Curlews, Knots, Plovers and Little Egrets.
