North Shields Adventure

Yorkshire

Travelling through Royal Quays Marina at a leisurely pace, Wetwheels Yorkshire will then pass through the lock (an exciting adveture in itself) and onto the River Tyne.  After a short journey along the Tyne, passing both North Shields Fish Quay and South Shields, we will head through the tyne piers and onto the sea.  Subject to conditions the itinerary may include travelling to local areas of interest such as Whitley Bay, Cresswell Sands to the North or South to Marsden Rock, Souter Lighthouse or even straight out to sea.  Whatever the route, participants will enjoy approximately 90 minutes of safe, stimulating and adventurous fun on the sea.  If we are very lucky, we may encounter seals, porpoise, dolphins and even whales – very occasionally all at the same time!

Where possible, participants will even get the opportunity to access the helm and steer the boat.

At a leisurely pace, whilst everyone gets comfortable and settled, Wetwheels Yorkshire will head through the marina before entering the lock, which will bring us to the level of the River Tyne. Once through the lock and onto the river, we will pass between North and South Shields, up to the famous Herd Groyne and then through the Tyne Piers onto the North Sea.
