Andy Fell Steps Down as Trustee and Chair
As they say, all good things must come to an end and that is certainly true for Andy Fell, who after 12 years of selfless commitment is stepping down as a Trustee and Chairman of the Wetwheels Foundation.
My friendship with Andy dates back much further (too far to mention without embarrassing him or me), so Andy was a logical choice to become one of my founding Trustees and Chairman back in 2012. Over that period, Andy has helped oversee the growth of the organisation to where we are today, from that single boat to now an amazing eight Wetwheels vessels around the country collectively taking almost 10,000 people a year onto the water. Andy will know most of you personally, and you likewise, and I'm proud to call him my friend. He has been a mentor to me personally and the Organisation owes him a huge debt of thanks for all of the hours, weeks, months and years he has dedicated to Wetwheels, if you cut him in half like a stick of rock, it would read Wetwheels.
It is probably appropriate at this point to thank his amazing wife Viv who has not only supported Andy but also never complained at the amount of time he has devoted to the charity (well, not that I am aware of!). Fortunately, we are not losing Andy altogether, Andy will become our first Vice President and has kindly taken on the challenge of putting together an innovative and exciting new Ambassador Program for the charity.
I know I'm joined by our Board of Trustees, our National Development Board, all our Operators and all of our volunteers in wishing Andy every success for the future - hopefully Viv will find plenty of things to keep him busy.
It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to work with him and my personal thanks to Andy for helping me achieve my dream.
