New Chair at the helm of Wetwheels Jersey
Wetwheels JerseyDavid Jones has been appointed Chair of the Board of Wetwheels Jersey Limited, succeeding Brian Watt who has come to the end of his term after six years.
David has recently retired from a 38-year teaching career and has developed his passion for sailing and boating from an early age.
On his appointment as Chair, David said “I am delighted to be appointed as Chair of Wetwheels Jersey, an organisation that strives to make boating more inclusive. Having grown up sailing on the Island, I consider it a privilege to be part of a team that gives Islanders with a range of disabilities an opportunity to share in the joy, excitement and exhilaration of being afloat, together with some unforgettable maritime experiences.
During its first 10 years, Wetwheels Jersey has received a wealth of support from the business sector and individuals across the Island and I am looking forward to working with our team of volunteers, sponsors and supporters to achieve further growth of our on-water activities.”
David is a past Commodore of St Catherine’s Sailing Club 2019-2020, and is an experienced yacht racing skipper, having competed in local, national and international events for many years. He is currently on the Executive and Sailing Committees of St Helier Yacht Club.
We welcome David to the team and look forward to working with him going forward.
