Wetwheels in Scotland

We are enjoying a wonderful week here in Edinburgh where Wetwheels Yorkshire has travelled up the coast to showcase our work - albeit with changeable weather! Being out on the water viewing the scenery and iconic Forth bridge has been magical.

It’s part of a fundraising and awareness raising initiative where we aim to establish a first permanent base north of the border at Port Edgar Marina on the Firth of Forth in the Spring of 2022.

Guests onboard have included the amazing Harry and Frank who have sight loss and are supported by the charity, Sight Scotland Veterans. We also welcomed Jeremy Balfour MSP who is the convenor of the Cross-Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on Disability.

Geoff explains “Disabled people like Harry and Frank face many obstacles to an active lifestyle and particularly in experiencing the sense of freedom and independence you only get on the water. Yet the physical and mental benefits of being on the sea are immense so I am really excited to be at Port Edgar Marina to raise awareness of our charity and to showcase the amazing work we do".
