Covid Update
In response to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, we would like to update you with our latest procedures and protocols, to help keep our team and those who come onboard, safe.
When booking with us, each Operator will liaise with you on the local updates and approaches to certain parts of your trip.
We view it as vitally important to be operating, and enabling as many as we can to experience the magic of the open water, sharing with others, in a safe and responsible way. We will:
- Observe social distancing of one metre, wherever reasonably practicable
- Use additional mitigation of face mask when within 1m of another person (close contact) for example, strapping down a wheelchair
- Use face masks when approaching participants, when in the wheelhouse or when requested by a participant group
- Wash hands on a regular basis or use hand sanitiser
- Continue to sanitise the steering wheel after each use, the boat and equipment (including lifejackets) between trips
- As an additional reassurance to our participants we will strongly encourage volunteer crew to self-test on a regular basis
Steering – For many of our participants this is a major feature of a Wetwheels experience. There are many local considerations to this and the Trustees consider that this is a local decision. Please check with the operator when booking whether steering the boat will be possible.
Participant Numbers – It is considered that it is not yet appropriate to increase mixed groups. However, it is appropriate for family groups and bubble groups of ten to go on a trip together. Local discretion will apply.
We ask our participants that:
- They do not attend if they have symptoms; are waiting for a test or a test result; have tested positive or have been advised to isolate.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
