Wetwheels Yorkshire Seahouses 2026

After being informed that North Sunderland Harbour, better known as Seahouses, had installed a new, accessible pontoon Wetwheels Yorkshire contacted the harbour master, Fiona, who kindly agreed to host us to provide the very first fully accessible adventures to enable disabled people with complex needs to access the nearby Farne Islands. These legendary islands are a haven for birds, seals and the home of Grace Darling, the famous heroine who rescued sailors as a 22 year old daughter of the lighthouse keeper at Big Harcar Lighthouse.

Wetwheels Yorkshire Feedback 2025

In Summer 2025, the team at Wetwheels Yorkshire spoke with a number of our participants to see what taking an accessible experience on board Wetwheels Yorkshire means to them. People stepped out of their comfort zones to put their thoughts on camera – thank you to all that took part.

2025 Wetwheels Yorkshire Season Highlights

This lovely video features just a small selection of the wonderful memories created on board Yorkshire’s fully accessible power boat, Wetwheels Yorkshire. Massive thanks to all our participants and the organisations and individuals who helped make the magic happen. Not forgetting a special shout out to the wonderful volunteer crew, without whom we wouldn’t have enabled over almost 10,000 disabled people, with their families and friends, to experience the amazing marine environment off the North East Coast.

Ocean Mini Torbay Support Wetwheels Torbay

We are delighted to receive support from Ocean Mini Torbay. They sponsored and captured a fantastic trip out on the water with some children from a local school – we had so much fun.

Sunderland Outreach 2024 with The Special Lioness

In August 2024, Wetwheels Yorkshire visited Sunderland for the first time to deliver barrier free boating to a local children’s charity, The Special Lioness. This video captures some of the memories created during a week of accessible adventures onto the sea.
